Worship

Worship = Christ Connection

We worship to connect ourselves to God and one another.

Thanksgiving:

Worship first and foremost is our gift to God for the life, love and blessing we receive from God. Worship is the work of everyone. Whether in church, at work or at home we are to give praise, honor and glory to God.

Rejoice evermore.  Pray without ceasing.  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Our worship is designed to fill you with joyful gratitude enabling you to worship God through every aspect of your life.

Love:

God loves you and hopes you will love God and everyone. God is always with us. God is always loving us. Nothing can separate us from God’s love. Our life is full of signs of God’s love. Unfortunately for most, our perception of God’s love is hazy. In worship we help each other perceive God’s love and presence. As we plan our worship time together we echo the Apostle Paul’s prayer.

“I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from God’s glorious, unlimited resources, God will empower you with inner strength through God’s Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep God’s love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (Ephesians 3:14-19)

Our worship is designed to fill you with God’s love, enabling you to be more loving.

Bible Based & Relevant:

We believe the Bible to be God’s Holy Spirit inspired love letter and operator’s manual on how to live life to the fullest. We believe the Bible has direction for all of today’s situations. We believe the Bible needs to be read, explored and discussed with Holy Spirit inspired minds for scripture to come alive. Sometimes scripture is literal yet often God’s truth needs to be unwrapped from metaphors, parables, stories and context.

Jesus said, “I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10b)

Our worship is designed to make the Bible relevant to your daily life so you can live life to the fullest.

Challenging:

Somewhat like a good and loving parent guides their children in making tough choices, God has challenging words for us. Love your enemies, repent, follow the way, truth and light, take up your cross, the greatest is the servant.

Our worship is designed to help all of us grow in becoming whole, healthy people so we explore God’s words of challenge so we can live them, never with guilt rather to reveal the beauty God created in us.

The Rhythms of Grace:

Life can be tough, challenging and draining especially when dealing with crisis. Worship at North is a safe place, with people and a pastor who genuinely care and are eager to support you. We are a community, a family of faith, that is there for each other. One season we need support the next season we provide support.

Jesus said, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:27-29)

Our worship is designed to help us discover and live the unforced rhythms of grace.

Music:

Music is a wonderful gift from God. Our singing in church, in the car, in our mind, even in the shower can all be part of our worship that rejuvenates us.

Worship the LORD with gladness; come before God with joyful songs. (Psalm 100:2)

Our worship is designed to rejuvenate you with joyful songs.
