Music

Music is an integral part of life at North. The following choirs are always eager to welcome new members. Contact the church office at 651-777-4044 or north@northchurch-mn.org for more information.

Sanctuary Choir:

Adults and youth are welcome to participate in the Sanctuary Choir.  They sing most Sundays, September through May. The Summertime Singers participate in worship once a month during June, July and August, meeting 45 minutes before the service in order to prepare that day’s anthem.

Children’s Choir:

Our children gather for song practice Wednesday evenings at 6:15-6:35 p.m. October through April and share joyful songs throughout the year at both the Traditional and Christ Connection services.

Handbells

Handbell Choirs:
The Northern Bells practice Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and play in worship an average of six Sundays during the program year.
Choral Bells, which ministers through music in nursing homes of the area, meets Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.

Praise Band:

We raise the roof every Sunday during the Christ Connection service with a joyful noise to the Lord. Our praise band consists of string and keyboard instruments, accompanied by drums and vocalists. The happening is an elated celebration of the love of our Lord. The band practices Thursday evenings at 7:00 and is always recruiting musicians willing to share their talents.

Youth Praise Band:

The Youth Praise Band is open to youth grades 6-12 with an interest in playing music to glorify God.  This group practices Wednesday nights from 7:00-7:30 p.m. in October-April.  We make a joyful noise through vocals and a variety of instruments.  Youth are welcome to bring their own instruments or use some available at church.  The Youth Praise Band performs periodically during the 10:45 a.m. Contemporary Worship Service.

Special Music:

All Church members have the opportunity to participate by providing vocal or instrumental music during a worship service. The congregation appreciates the special music that individuals or small groups offer. Instrumentalists and soloists add greatly to the worship experience – another way to share your special gifts.
