Pastoral Worship

Our congregation provides worship services to mark special times in church members’ discipleship.  Such services may include:

Weddings: A worship celebration of the covenant of marriage after prayerful preparation and four sessions with Pastor James.

House Blessings: Pastor James is glad to gather with friends and family to bless a new home.

Renewal of Vows: A celebration of marriage and the gift of God’s love, which binds a couple together in perfect harmony.

Special Communion: Pastor James, with one of our elders or deacons, offer the sacrament of communion to our homebound or hospitalized three times a year (or upon request).

Hospital Visitation: Pastor James would like to support you in prayer during times of need. Just have someone inform the church office of your whereabouts.

Funerals and Memorial Services: These services are a celebration of the life of a loved one and the sure and certain trust in the resurrection to eternal life.

Baptism: Our Session authorizes Pastor James to baptize active participants at any age at either service. Anyone seeking baptism is invited to meet with Pastor James to prepare for this wonderful sacrament celebrating the love of God that welcomes us into the family of God.

         Special Worship Services

Throughout the year we gather to celebrate God’s love for us in special services of worship. They include:

Christmas Eve Services: We have two joyful celebrations of Jesus’ birth. At both services we listen to the Christmas story, glorify God with joyful carols, celebrate the Lord’s Supper and experience a liturgy of lights. Both services are a candlelight worship with beautiful songs by the sanctuary choir along with special music.

Ash Wednesday: A reflective evening service which invites us to examine our life and prepare for Easter.

Agape Celebration: A unique service recreating the earliest Christian gatherings according to the book of Acts. We gather in the Hall where everyone shares platters of finger food distributed around the room by our elders & deacons as we sing, pray and celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.

Ecumenical Services: We join with our brothers and sisters from area churches for a joint service on Good Friday followed by fellowship and refreshments.

Maundy Thursday: A meditative candlelit service to remember Christ’s Last Supper, his betrayal and arrest, remembering his words, “No greater love has one for another than this, that one lays down his life for his friends. You are my friends.”

Worship in the Park: Hause Park in North St. Paul provides the “sanctuary” for this annual summer service followed by a church picnic, games and fun.
